Our bespoke fine art solutions cater to individuals, artists, galleries, interior designers, art consultants and businesses of all sizes.
We are based in a trendy tailor made studio/gallery space in Cape Town’s Northern suburbs. With a 30 m² drive in cyclorama we are able to service a wide range of clientele ranging from automotive to corporate clients for photographic and videographic services.
Tiaan van Deventer stands as a remarkable figure in the realm of visual arts and photography, with a distinguished career rooted in technical mastery and creative innovation. Based in Bellville, Cape Town, his artistic journey began in the analogue era, earning a National Diploma in Photography from Peninsula Technikon in 1999. Early in his career, Tiaan honed his expertise within the photographic industry and later broadened his perspective while working at Kingsbridge Art specialist framers in London. Upon returning to South Africa, he established this same premier framing business in Cape Town, seamlessly bridging global craftsmanship with local artistry.
Holding a B-Tech degree in Photography from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Tiaan has shared his profound knowledge as a lecturer at several esteemed tertiary institutions. His dedication extends beyond personal practice, serving as treasurer of the Arts Association of Bellville, as well as a curator and art consultant for both institutions and private collectors.
Among his notable achievements is his compelling project, Die Uitgewerptes, a deeply humanistic photographic series documenting the lives of homeless Afrikaner men battling drug addiction. This poignant work garnered him the esteemed Conrad Theys 1st Prize at the Vuleka competition, reflecting his ability to meld social commentary with artistic expression.
In his most recent artistic endeavor: OBSCURA, Tiaan delves into the captivating world of large-scale installations, constructing and operating monumental camera obscuras. These installations have captivated audiences at events like AfrikaBurn in the Tankwa Karoo and other prominent venues, showcasing his technical brilliance and innovative spirit.
Tiaan’s artistry transcends borders, with works residing in private and public collections across South Africa, the UK, Germany, Ireland, and the Netherlands. His unique ability to blend conceptual depth with technical precision affirms his place as a visionary in the global art and photography landscape.
